Uninsured / Underinsured Motorist Coverage

What happens when the at fault driver is not insured or does not have enough insurance coverage for my damages?

If you or a loved one has been involved in a car or truck accident, you are facing unexpected medical and hospital bills and the need to repair or replace a damaged vehicle. Pardy & Rodriguez, P.A., work to make a recovery for your losses from the insurance company for the driver that caused the accident. But what can you do if the at fault driver does not carry insurance or carries only a small amount? You may have a claim against your insurance company under coverage for uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage that will pay for your medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, and future medical care needs.

Even if you have not purchased Uninsured Motorists coverage, we are sometimes able to make a recovery for you due to errors made by your insurance company or agent at the time you purchased your policy. Please contact our office to discuss your claim.

The Law Offices of Pardy & Rodriguez, P.A. in Central Florida, recover damages from insurance companies for our clients. If your personal injury was caused by an uninsured or underinsured motorist, our attorneys may be able to recover money damages from your own insurance policy

INJURED BY A HIT AND RUN DRIVER?

Have you been injured by a hit and run driver? If so, Uninsured / Underinsured Motorists coverage also covers you. Obtaining an accident report from a police agency is important in every accident, but especially so when you have been injured by a hit and run driver. If you are the victim of a hit and run, make sure you report the incident to a police authority and obtain a copy of the report. Reporting the accident immediately and remaining at the accident scene until police arrive is best, but you can still report an accident after you have left the scene by going to a local police authority and obtaining a report.

The Single Most Important Insurance Coverage for Every Florida Family

Due to the recent economic downturn, many Floridians are driving without insurance or have reduced their insurance coverage limits. Under Florida law, Florida drivers are not required to carry insurance for bodily injury liability (insurance to cover them when they cause an accident and hurt someone). Insurance agents may try to talk you out of buying Uninsured / Underinsured Motorist coverage. Don't let them! This is the most important insurance to protect your family on the road!

Your health insurance may cover your medical bills in the event of an accident after any deductible has been met (you are still making any copayment), however, health insurance does not cover lost wages or your pain and suffering, and may not cover you for your future medical care needs. In addition, your health insurance does not cover passengers injured in your car by a careless driver. Uninsured / Underinsured Motorists coverage does.
